Technology Platform
BDEARS runs on DSpace version 5.x - an open source digital repository software developed jointly by the MIT Libraries and the Hewlett-Packard Company. The stable version provides new features and many improvements. All content shall be retained and all permanent URLs work. The ICT unit supports the system and continue to monitor the functionality of the different features to ensure that the systems continue to work without any technical glitches. The technical glitches are fixed when they are identified to improve user experience to the system. User who face challenges with the system send their comments to BDEARS@busitema.ac.ug
BDEARS is the digital repository for research and scholarship - including published and unpublished papers, dissertations, video and audio - produced at Busitema University. BDEARS can also accept research datasets, but researchers should be aware that the Busitema Data Bank will be the preferred service for most data sets. The Busitema Data Bank is work in progress. All academics, staff, graduate and undergraduate students can deposit into BDEARS. This is a place to find information related to BDEARS, including policies, procedures, guidelines, and help pages.
